Manual Handling Policy
The Manual Handling Policy details your organisation’s commitment to provide safe work practices such as designing ergonomic work areas, providing lifting equipment and training your employees to prevent manual handling injuries.
Manual handling requires a person to exert force to lift, lower, push, pull, carry, hold or restrain an animate or inanimate object. These activities account for most work practices, so it’s no surprise manual handling injuries are the cause of the highest number of injuries occurring in the workplace.
Manual handling injuries refer to strains, sprains, torn muscles or ligaments and injury to spinal discs. These injuries are painful and can take months for the injured person to recover, affecting their work and home life.
This 2 page Manual Handling Policy is included in our WHS Management System and ISO 45001 OH&S Management System, or can be purchased individually and used as a stand alone document.
